NAS® ECO and Luran® ECO are made using renewable feedstock and are an ideal solution for a variety of products. Both brands are available with a renewable content of 60% to 80%. This results in a carbon footprint reduction of 77% to 99% compared to fossil based NAS and Luran.

NAS® ECO is a stiff, amorphous styrene methyl methacrylate (SMMA) copolymer for demanding applications requiring excellent transparency such as water tanks, displays, food containers or boxes and medical components. NAS ECO features an outstanding water-clear appearance, an extreme low haze as well as a good thermal and chemical resistance. 

Luran® ECO is a styrene acrylonitrile copolymer (SAN) featuring a well-balanced property profile ranging from good transparency and excellent chemical resistance to high stiffness, extraordinary heat resistance as well as very good dimensional stability. These make them a material of choice for a variety of household and cosmetics packaging applications.

USING SUSTAINABLE FEEDSTOCKS FOR PRODUCTION. WHAT DOES BIO-ATTRIBUTION MEAN?

In the attribution approach, renewable feedstock is mixed with fossil-based feedstock during production. The amount of renewable feedstock used is tracked and an equivalent amount is attributed to the final product. A certification body called the ISCC oversees this process, and a sustainability declaration is issued for the final product.

The bio-based content is allocated using a certified mass-balance approach. NAS® ECO and Luran® ECO‘s feedstock sources, supply chain and production processes have been awarded ISCC PLUS certification and comply with the highest sustainability certification criteria. International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) is a globally applicable sustainability certification system, which covers all sustainable feedstocks, including agricultural and forestry biomass, circular and bio-based materials and renewables.
